Thibodaux sits at the crossroads of three main roads and is within a short drive to U.S. 49. (LA 90) Canal Boulevard provides a main artery north and south and transitions into LA 24 which both connects directly to U.S. 49 (LA 90) and continues on to Houma. Heading north, Canal Boulevard transitions into LA 20 traveling on through the communities of Chackbay and Vacherie to the mighty Mississippi River. Crossing east to west is LA 1 and LA 308 - two main arteries that if followed to their conclusion, bring you through wonderful Cajun communities of Central and South Lafourche and on to the Gulf of Mexico. LA 1 or 308 taken west brings you past antebellum homes near Napolenonville with connections to Baton Rouge and beyond.
Traffic is generally smooth flowing and a cross town trip rarely takes more than 15 minutes. There is no mass transit within Thibodaux however Good Earth Transit completes a circuit from Houma to Nicholls and Thibodaux Regional Medical Center on a regular schedule.
