Climate

Thibodaux enjoys a temperate climate ranging from a few days in the 30's to a few days in the 90's. Coldest temperatures are typically found around February with the warmest around August. Snow is a rarity that when it occurs creates a great deal of excitment. Almost never is there enough snow to stay on the ground for long.

Spring and fall are absolutely gorgeous with long stretches of mild days that cause people to find almost any excuse to go outdoors.

Thibodaux gets an average 71 inches of rain per year which attributes to its lush environment and extended growing season for gardens and landscaping.

Average humidity is similar to communities like Houston, Atlanta or Miami due to it proximity to the Gulf of Mexico. Like any southern state, temperatures occasionally get warm but it is really a very short-lived thing.  Actually Thibodaux's temperatures remain within a very reasonable range through all seasons due to the moderation affect provided by the Gulf of Mexico.  Most weather is easily managed by a light coat in the winter and comfortable clothes during the summer.
